Using the cards
So how do we use the cards and the framework?
Using the three C’s of Clarify, Check & Cultivate:
Clarify > Check > Cultivate |
Clarify Use the cards to get super clear on what makes teamwork work Check Use the cards as “lenses” to check the various dimensions & aspects of teamwork to determine where our focus should be Cultivate Use the cards to help cultivate one or more aspects of teamwork where needed (Return to step 1 or 2. Did teamwork improve? Repeat) |
Q. How do I use the cards to check (assess) teamworking?
Card Positioning
Layout the cards on a table or Miro board (or other online collaboration space).
Ask the team members rank the cards by moving cards up or down, where up is better and down is worse.
See the overall pattern which will show where you may want to focus improvement efforts (i.e. poorly ranking aspects).
Rating
Layout the cards. Let team members dot vote on the rating scale from Poor to Great.
The poor & great statements help to anchor the scale and make it more concrete and relatable.
Hallmark Tickboxes
To zoom-in further on poorly rated aspects. Get the team members to dot vote on the tickboxes to get a collective view of which hallmarks are present, and by implication, lacking (not present) and to what extent.
Cultivators
Get the team members to dot vote on the cultivators to get a collective view of which improvement ideas resonate and should be a focus of improvement efforts.
Tools
Likewise, the Tools section can be a source of ideas for tools which may help cultivate greater teamwork.
